The Choice Is Yours Or Is It?

The choice is yours or is it?

My news feed is flooded by the problems we are facing with schooling in a pandemic. The best advice that I have seen, time and time again is that the choice is yours, and your family’s. It’s a personal decision.

These words are encouraging but what if you don’t know exactly what you are choosing. The pro’s and con’s for in person learning, hybrid learning, homeschooling, and distance learning are too much to think about.

If anyone would like to hash out a pro con list with me I would be happy to! It’s an overwhelming task best done with other viewpoints.

These scenarios have a ripple effect, we won’t even know the impact it will have on our kids education until we actually choose one.
We had no choice when schools were forced to close in May. We may actually have no choice at some point this school year.

I say know your options, know the pro’s and con’s to each option and keep it real. Whatever choice you make try to be flexible, forgiving and make learning fun.
Kids pick up on the worrying and the social emotional stuff so much that it impacts their ability to learn, in any of these scenarios.

Many of our kids that struggle with reading will in these learning scenarios. So think of the 3 F’s (flexible, forgiving and fun) building confidence and enjoyment should be the end goal.
