Writing is Peace of Mind

I am back! I have been on hiatus from my blog. I am overscheduled. My kids are overscheduled and so am I. Finding the balance is fake talk for memes and self help feel good nonsense. The balance always comes with a sacrifice and I had to give writing a break.

I gave writing a break for teaching and learning this summer. I taught my reading kids at summer school. Then I attended the Reading and Writing Program conferences. Then I did Linda Mood Bell Training. I still have not digested everything I learned this summer.

Then I took August to spend time with my family. I also had a few private tutoring kiddos and reading evaluations. Time flew by and I began to get this nagging feeling about writing my blog.
The feeling persisted through getting my kids ready for school and getting myself ready too. It began to feel like a sore spot. Worrying about keeping my blog current. I had to sacrifice and let it go.

Now I am back relieved and ready to keep this ball rolling. Creating this blog gives me a voice as a parent with the experience of an educator. It helps me advocate for families and puts kids first.
This blog was born from the late night worrying about my own kid’s educational future. It was born from answering the questions from parents who just received the dyslexia diagnosis. It was born from the tears shed at PPT meetings. This blog helps me show up for you and be honest to myself.

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it. Thanks for your support.
